Setting up your Exchange Email Account

Here are some simple steps for setting up your Exchange Email Account.

For outlook 2003 you can visit this link and follow the instructions, this will include a profile automatically created for you (use your email address and pass to log into it):

Instructions for manual setup: (Screen shots taken from Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista, this is functionaly equivalent for Outlook 2003 users and Windows XP)

How to set up your exchange email in outlook

Please ensure you have all critical updates for windows xp/vista and outlook before attempting this set up.

Follow these steps to get outlook running with your exchange account:


1. Make sure outlook is closed. First of all, go to the Control Panel (via the start menu) and select Mail, then select E-mail accounts.

 
 
 

 

 

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


2. Select New and choose Microsoft Exchange 

 

 

 


 

 


 

3. Tick the Manually Configure Server settings and additional server types checkbox and click Next, Select Microsoft Exchange as the type then click Next again

 

 


4. In the Microsoft Exchange Server checkbox type: EVS1
 In the User Name checkbox type: your exchange email address
 E.g. john.smith@company.com
 NOTE: DO NOT CLICK CHECK NAME HERE 
 Ensure Use Cached Exchange Mode is ticked and select More Settings

 

 


5. You may get an error like the one below, ignore it, Click OK, then click OK again on the next window


 

 


6. Now go to the Connection tab (see picture) and select Exchange Proxy Settings 

 


 
7. Enter the following settings exactly as pictured below

 



8. Press OK and ok/next/finish out of all dialogs. You can now start Outlook and log in. EVS1 will locate the server your mailbox is on and then update automatically.

 

Outlook will now be configured for your exchange email account.
